Yahoo Message Board, Ion Geophysical, and Free Speech?
As most of you know I was the SR VP and GM of the Land Imaging Systems Division of Input Output Inc. (now Ion Geophysical Inc.) and I am still in contact with many employees and ex employees. The last few weeks I have been receiving calls and emails from a number of ex Ion Geo employees in regard to the rumor that BGP (a company in China that is the worlds largest Seismic contactor), saying that Ion is selling all or most of the LISD to BGP.

One other interesting fact Ion Geo now has a Blog , however they do not allow comments or questions! They just do not get Web 2.0.

More interesting data: Yesterday I had a call from a current Ion Geo employee who googled Ion BGP and found this post on the top of the second page. Today Google Ion BGP and this post is nowhere to be sean?

Could you please provide a bit more explanation about why not sell / shut down Firefly project? Sercel recently conducted 40000 channels project in middle east and the progress of Firefly has been a little slow.

I would rather not comment on my old company’s business.
Clearly I believe that the market needs an economical, and simple one channel system for use with Geophones (98% of the market) and without costly radio links that require frequent battery replacements, that is why I started RDSeismic LLC
